A Training Program to Provide Student Teachers the Skill of Using Interactive Videos and Gamification and Reducing the Cognitive Load

Abstract

This study aimed to provide student teachers with some basic skills for e-learning and reduce the cognitive load during training. and The research sample consisted of 14 practical education students at the Faculty of Education at the University of Aleppo, and the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach and the semi-experimental approach, and to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared the training program, a test for cognitive achievement, a note card for e-learning skills and a measure of cognitive load, and the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in each of the cognitive achievement test The results also showed the effectiveness of the training program in providing student teachers with e-learning skills, where the size of the effect was calculated using Black's law, and the adjusted gain rate for the experimental group was (1.4), which is higher than the standard ratio set by Black (1.2), and the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the degree of cognitive load in favor of the research sample, which indicates the effectiveness of the training program in reducing the cognitive burden among the sample members.
