Political Stability and Its Impact on Attracting Foreign Direct Investment during 2020- 2024

Abstract
This research aims to analyze the relationship between political stability and foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction in Iraq during the period (2020-2024). It highlights how political unrest, government fluctuations, and internal conflicts affect foreign investor confidence. It highlights political indicators, security, and legislative challenges, and relies on quantitative and qualitative analysis of official data issued by governmental and international institutions. The study concludes that the lack of political stability in Iraq during this period had a direct negative impact on the flow of foreign investment, particularly outside the oil sector. The research recommends the need to enhance good governance and strengthen state institutions to reduce political risks and increase Iraq's attractiveness to investors.
