The AI Impact on Societal Structure: A Field Study on a Sample of Academic Elites

Abstract

Our study attempted to identify the effects that artificial intelligence can have on societal construction, through social values, and the impact on societal development plans, and what artificial intelligence can have on relationships within society. We also addressed the importance of artificial intelligence and its characteristics, its positives and negatives, as well as the relationship between human values ​​and artificial intelligence in terms of influence and impact, and the role it plays in societal development because it is one of the foundations of societal construction. The study was field-based and relied on a deliberate sample of academic and executive leaders in some ministries, most importantly the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. The sample was (100) respondents. The questionnaire was formulated scientifically and distributed over two axes: artificial intelligence and societal construction, and included (14) questions. The most important results:(1) Artificial intelligence cannot be a substitute for human intelligence, despite its low error rate, as well as its ability to analyze very large amounts of information. (2) Artificial intelligence is a major factor in family disintegration and an increase in autism and isolation. (3) It has contributed to the development of educational sectors.(4) It has had a significant impact on values ​​and customs within society, while harming some of the inherited values ​​in society. (5) It has shown that Iraqi society cannot use artificial intelligence properly.
