Cognitive Spur and its Effectiveness in Reading Texts of Contemporary Iraqi Theatre

Abstract

Literature and artistic contemporary studies rise with products that develop and boost realization and awareness for the receiver, theories of reading and receiving strive for make the viewer participant for the literature product not consumer. The cognitive spur is considered one of the motivation tools that manipulate the mind of viewer and modify his ideas and shift the meaning that reached by the viewer into ideas and multi meaning in order to obtain the aesthetic of the viewer. Iraqi stage texts are considered one of the distinguished products and investing of cognitive spur and its effectiveness in inciting the aware realization and aesthetic of the intellect and multi meaning for the viewer, the problem of the research was determined by the following question :-

What is the cognitive spur and its effectiveness in reading texts of contemporary Iraqi Theatre?

               The research aimed to identify the cognitive spur and its effeteness in reading texts in contemporary Iraqi theatre.

               Its importance is considered a virgin study in the field of stage literature, second chapter included the theoretical frame that consists of two sections:- 

First section:- Cognitive spur، entrusting and philosophical approach conceptually.

Second section:- Cognitive spur and its effectiveness in reading theory and receiving for theatrical texts.

               The third chapter included research procedures within the research community, which was defined as five theatrical texts for the period (2016-2023). Two plays were chosen as an analytical sample: "The Fifth Bed" and "Playing the Deserting."

 The results were extracted in the fourth chapter, the most important of which are:

• The cognitive spur activates interpretive effectiveness and the ability to infer multiple meanings according to the diffusion technique in the text.


• The cognitive spur awakens mental effectiveness to reveal and highlight contradiction and difference, and to deconstruct the dialectics of opposites and intellectual dissonance between reality and dreams.


• The cognitive spur works effectively to provoke and mobilize intellectual transformations and break the horizon of expectations for the recipient.
