Abstract

The study aimed to explore the reality of the use of artificial intelligence applications and the obstacles to their employment in university teaching from the perspective of faculty members at the College of Education at the University of Khartoum. To this end, the researcher used a descriptive analytical approach and selected a random sample of 75 faculty members, representing 30% of the total population. The study relied on a questionnaire as the main tool for data collection. The results yielded a set of important observations, most notably: a low rate of use of artificial intelligence applications in university teaching by faculty members, compared to a noticeable increase in the degree of obstacles preventing their use. Based on these results, the study made a number of recommendations, including the need to organize intensive training courses in artificial intelligence technologies for faculty members and to encourage curriculum planners to include artificial intelligence technology as a separate subject taught at all levels of education. The study also called on the University of Khartoum to adopt strategies that encourage faculty members to integrate artificial intelligence technology into the educational process.
